Displaying contents from Layout DXL

Let me start with I'm fairly new (>1 year) using DXL.
I have managed to write a script that will extract a link from an object, store it in a skip list, and then export some of the source object's attribute data into an excel spreadsheet. Everything is working except when I get to the attribute whose contents are calculated using layout dxl code. In the code, it looks like the results are a defined string (numbers), but I dont know how to pull that info into the excel doc; even when using the string name "onum" in my print statement. Is it even possible to export attribute contents if calculated using layout dxl?

You can export values you put in string variables.

Layouts are not attributes. If you mean you are getting the away object's value of an attrDXL, then there's nothing special you need to do: Value = oOther.NameAttr "" doesn't care if NameAttr is an attrDXL.

If you really do mean 'Layout', then you'd need to open the other module Visibly, load the view in question, look for the column in question, and then use Value = text(cOtherColumn, oOther).
